About the Role
We are looking for a Java Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-performance, secure backend services for our existing customer. You will work on transaction-heavy systems where accuracy, reliability, and data integrity are critical.
Team: Product Engineering
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services and REST APIs using Core Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework.
- Build the data layer with Hibernate/JPA and PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and transaction management.
- Develop microservices with proper error handling, idempotency, and resilience patterns for financial transactions.
- Write clean, testable code with unit and integration tests (JUnit, Mockito) and participate in code reviews.
- Optimize application and database performance; troubleshoot production issues.
- Implement secure coding practices: authentication/authorization (Spring Security, OAuth2/JWT), encryption, and audit logging.
- Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Core Java (collections, multithreading/concurrency, JVM fundamentals, Java 8+ features).
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security.
- Proficiency in Hibernate/JPA, including lazy loading, caching, and N+1 query handling.
- Solid PostgreSQL skills: complex SQL, stored procedures, query tuning, and transaction isolation.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
